“Name Your Price” Car Rental

Your Las Vegas car rental won’t cost you an arm and a leg if you go with the “name your price” method. Traditionally, you go to the rental agency’s website or call the company to find out what their current prices are the vehicle you want to rent. Online, you enter the kind of car you want, the pick up location, and the amount of time you’d like to keep the car. Every independent rental car company has set certain prices for every class of vehicle. Which does not include taxes, insurance and other fees.

With the “name your price” model you have a much better chance of getting a cheaper, more fair price. The top two websites offering this service are Priceline and Hotwire. You don’t need me to tell you how popular these sites are. But I will tell you that you have the potential to save a ton of money on your Las Vegas car rental instantly. Before you jump on the bandwagon, look into what the average price is for the car you want to rent for the specific time-frame that you need. With that in mind, head over to either Priceline or Hotwire to determine what they have to offer.

With Hotwire, they will make you an offer based on your specifications. It is recommended that if you see a price you like, you should jump on it fast since prices are subject to availability. Priceline works in the opposite manner where you make an offer and tell the site what you are willing to pay for your Las Vegas car rental. If your offer is accepted, you are then guaranteed that rate if you jump on it immediately. All in all, anyone of these techniques can work marvelously.

Can I Pay for a Car Rental with a Debit Card?

Filed under: Car Rental Las Vegas - 16 Feb 2010  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

A debit card and/or a check card that withdraws the funds directly from your checking account may be used as payment for a rental car at many of the rental car companies; however your checking account must have all of the funds available to cover the initial price of the vehicle plus any of the surge charges that are incurred upon renting the car. Although you are sometimes able to use your debit or check card as payment for the vehicle that you have rented, a prepaid or stores value card cannot be implored to make a reservation on as a payment.

Even though there are many of the car rental establishments that will accept a debit card as payment for the rental car, this option of payment is only available at certain locations; therefore, you need to make sure that the rental car company that you have selected located in your destination will allow you the option to pay for the rental with a debit card.

In order to use your debit card as a form of payment, the rental car company will place a hold on a certain amount of the funds that are available. Then when the vehicle is returned to them, they simply deduct what is owed from the car’s use, and release the placed on the funds that are remaining.

Unfortunately, there are some of the car rental companies that will not allow you to make a reservation for a vehicle using your debit card. Some of these companies require that you reserve the vehicle with a major credit card. The positive side is that you will not have to pay for the rental car with the credit card itself. Often they will allow you upon returning the vehicle to pay with your debit card.

Tips for a successful road trip

Even though the price of gas keeps rising, families are still taking journeys. And as higher gas prices force cheap airfares to disappear, people are making the choice to take more trips by automobile.

But it isn’t all plain sailing (or driving!). Youngsters lose interest riding in the car. Playing games can keep them occupied. How about this one – they must find the alphabet, beginning with An on signs, billboards or license plates. It must be the first letter in the sign – you able not able to use the E in Burger King.

Another variation of the alphabet game is that you have to find objects that start with each letter. Riders take turns looking outside for something green. Similarly crucial to the entertainment is the intermission. Take frequent stretch breaks.
